The Cerritos Library offers a wide range of services, collections, and
programs for the enrichment of adults. Individuals or groups can request
adult services orientation tours from the Library’s friendly and
helpful staff.
Adult Reference Desk services include answers to reference questions,
as well as assistance with more extensive research projects. The Library
has a strong collection of carefully selected business materials. These
offer valuable information resources to investors, market researchers,
small business owners, import-export companies, and business students.
Programs for adults include authors' presentations and classes on using
research databases and the eCatalog. Computer workstations offer high-speed
Internet access and a large selection of research databases, including
full text articles from thousands of general reference, business, consumer
health, and science publications. In addition, the library has back editions
of some newspapers and periodicals on microfiche and microfilm.
The World Traditions area includes the Library's fiction and special
language collections. Genre fiction collections include Mystery, Science
Fiction, Western and Romance. In addition to English, materials
are available in Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Vietnamese, Spanish and Indian
languages.
The Library is dedicated to the First Ladies of the United States and
maintains an extensive collection of books written about them. The collection
also includes displays of personal items such as purses and letters that
were donated to the Library by some of the First Ladies.
