Teen Studio Policy

  • The Cerritos Library Teen Studio provides study areas, computers and additional technological equipment for the exclusive use by students in grades 7 through 12.
  • Use of the Teen Studio is solely allowed for students in grades 7 through 12. The only exception will be for caregivers or aids who accompany teens who are in need of assistance.
  • Private tutors are not allowed to conduct their business or study sessions in the Teen Studio.
  • The Teen Studio is open whenever the Cerritos Library is open.
  • Cerritos Library staff is on duty in the Teen Studio during the library’s operating hours.
  • Cerritos Library staff will check the student identification cards of patrons entering the Teen Studio to ensure they are within the allowed age group of grades 7 through 12. Use of the Teen Studio is not limited by city of residence.
  • The Teen Studio provides a learning environment and is not an area for socializing or gaming.
  • The 18 iMac computers in the Teen Studio are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • The computer touch tables in the Teen Studio are available for use by reservation.
  • An equipment user must complete a request form and leave his or her photo student identification card with Cerritos Library staff while using the equipment.
  • The touch screen displays, and the iPad controllers, in the Teen Studio are available for use by reservation. An equipment user must complete a request form and leave his or her photo student identification card with Cerritos Library staff while using the equipment.
  • The Teen Studio’s computer touch tables and touch screens are to be used only to access and display appropriate content.
  • The Teen Studio is equipped with a multi-function printing device. Fees are charged for printing that are consistent with the printing fees charged in other areas of the Cerritos Library.
  • The consumption of food is not allowed in the Teen Studio.
  • Beverages in spill-proof containers are allowed in the Teen Studio.
  • Behavior in the Teen Studio is expected to conform to behavior norms within other areas of the Cerritos Library. The code of conduct for the Cerritos Library applies to the Teen Studio.
  • Visitors not adhering to the Teen Studio’s policies may be asked to leave the Teen Studio and the Cerritos Library.
  • The Cerritos Library Teen Studio policy may change from time to time. A current Teen Studio policy is available at all times on the Teen Studio website.
