Ellen I. Panescu established Turquoise Turtel Press during her independent study at Scripps College Press, Claremont. Her work makes extensive use of die cuts that invite the reader to literally open doors and see through window frames. Images of people looking through windows trying not to be seen give way to lines of drying laundry and louvered blinds. Printed on Rives BFK papers, the book contains images that were drawn in pencil, scanned, altered, laser-printed and transferred to acetone. The binding is two-color case with sewn-over ramie band tapes.

Ellen I. Panescu now runs Punch Design in New York City with Michal Berger, whom she met at Pratt Institute while studying communication design.
