Documents about the rich history of the City of Cerritos are placed in the Cerritos Library's Local History Room.

The Local History Room also contains display cases with a variety of exhibitions and a mural depicting the community's progress from the successful agricultural City of Dairy Valley to the ideal suburban City of Cerritos.

Students and researchers can use this special room to access news clippings and photographs of the City's history.

Also available in the library’s collection is "The Story of Cerritos: A History in Progress," a book that covers the community's history from the first Native Americans to settle in the area to the present time.

The Local History Room is an inviting area where visitors can explore and experience the proud history of the community.
