Quercus Psalter

Long Beach artist Sue Ann Robinson’s Quercus Psalter was inspired by stories about oak trees. Much of the text is derived from the participatory installations of Quercus Scribe. These installations included 60 live indigenous Southern California oak tree seedlings from Tree People in Los Angeles. The end pages of Quercus Psalter slip out of the cover to open as an accordion so that the trees on the opposite side of the page can form a grove. The front wrapper is embossed with leaves. The edition was created for and supported by the Library Fellows of the National Museum of Women in the Arts.
